Welcome to our charity website.
Purpose
We are here to enable local people with disabilities to come sailing on Windermere. Blackwell Sailing has been doing this since 1993 and is a registered charity. We are also an RYA Training Centre and have Accreditation with RYA Sailability.
Our 6 minute video provides and overview and ‘feel’ of Blackwell Sailing.
The in-house video captures sailors and volunteers saying why they like coming to Blackwell Sailing. The video is in 6 one minute sections covering all aspects from our activities, groups, values, and fund raising. Click here to see the video on YouTube.

Sailors, volunteers and supporters gathered to honour David Hall to mark his retirement in 2022 after 25 years as manager. Photos were taken. Click here for a gallery of pictures.
Charity Manager/Sailing Principal:
Jonny Cormack is our Sailing Principal and Charity Manager. Jonny is responsible for all the day to day running of Blackwell Sailing, including the office, volunteers and sailing sessions. Jonny is the point of contact for all enquiries.

Supporting and Volunteering
As a small local charity, Blackwell Sailing depends on outside support and local volunteers. Sailors are only asked for a £5 donation for a full session, so we apply for grants and have regular supporters, with occasional fund-raising events. Link to support page.
Our volunteers are experienced sailors or carers. We love to help our guests do whatever they can to sail safely and have an experience on the water learning new skills and building relationships. Link to volunteer page.
Thank you for your interest in Blackwell Sailing.
