Learn new skills and make new friends
Blackwell Sailing is available to people in Cumbria, young or old who have a disability. We do not charge, though as we rely entirely on volunteers, grant funding and voluntary donations we suggest you might make a small contribution per session.
We have many groups and some individuals who make the most of what we have to offer at Blackwell. Not only is it a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, it is also a great place to make new friends.
The groups who currently come sailing are: Beaumont College, Barrow; Beaumont College, Carlisle (both run by SCOPE); Whinfell School, Kendal; Day service groups from Barrow, Kendal, Wigton and Penrith. The Vital Group (from South Lakes Sight Advice).
Please make contact if you would like to come for a taster sailing session. Fact sheets can be sent to you via email or you can phone for a chat.
Take a look at the slideshow or watch our 10 minute film on the video page. Either option will give you the feel for what we are all about.
